Classroom Activity for Assignment 3

Classroom Activity for Assignment 3: Happening (Visual Story)

Brief synopsis on Assignment 3:

  • Telling a story (visual narrative) with just 10 photos

  • All contents must be original (plot to be written by ourselves)

  • To include a twist to the story

Classroom Activity:

  • Within the time span of 30 mins, select an object and "freeze" the moment down onto the paper. this object/ activity must be able to tell a story. (Group activity)

This was the first time we were allowed to source for inspiration for our classroom activity out of the lecture hall. Been observing around us and we saw a person walking up the stair. Immediately this idea striked us and we drew down....

However what we had drew was not an appropriate picture to be used for narrating a story. It was just an activity which does not have any significant meaning or story behind it. After the clarification with the lecturer, we thought of a few more ideas which could be more appropriate.

For example:

  • A person walking up the stairs with his head turning back
  • a person walking up the stairs with his hand stretch out towards the person in front of him (Have not touch the other person yet)

Personally, i think this classroom activity is to enable us to have the opportunity to create scenes which enables the user to engage in. It must allow the audiences to think and create the storyline based on their perception. For instance, the second bullet point i mentioned regarding the hand stretch out towards the person in front it could be they are friends or perhaps the stranger in front of him drop some item and he want to return to him.
